The Birth of Umbrella

In 2025, Umbrella was launched as an independent business unit dedicated entirely to Cloud Cost Management. Umbrella is an all-in-one platform that empowers businesses with full control and visibility over cloud expenses, aligning with the evolving market demand for smarter cost optimization.

The journey into FinOps took shape in 2022 with the release of a dedicated Cloud Cost Management platform. Since then, the solution has gained rapid traction, helping leading MSPs and enterprises migrate from legacy tools like CloudHealth to a more automated and intelligent approach.

Our Roots in AI & Innovation

Umbrella’s foundation is deeply rooted in AI-driven analytics. It began as Anodot, a pioneering anomaly detection platform founded in 2014, helping businesses monitor vast amounts of data in real-time. With over 200 enterprise customers across industries such as gaming, ad-tech, fintech, and telecom, Anodot built a reputation for machine learning-powered insights and automation. In 2021, the company expanded into Cloud Cost Management, acquiring Pileus to integrate ML-based cost monitoring with its analytics expertise. By 2022, the focus had fully shifted to FinOps, providing businesses with automation, intelligence, and agility to optimize cloud costs effectively. This evolution led to the creation of Umbrella, a brand solely dedicated to solving cloud cost challenges.
